SALTCOATS (Qu’A) — The church building of St. Augustine has closed, but the congregation continues to worship in Christ Church, Churchbridge. Bishop Helen Kennedy officiated at the final service on July 12, and said, “The church is not a building; it’s the people who make the church.”

The bishop encouraged those present to tell their stories about their connection with the church. The stories were heartwarming to hear and helped the people understand how difficult it is to say “goodbye.” Two former members, Pat Neal and June Gibler, were in attendance to represent their families

The service also marked the closing of St. John’s Anglican Church in Esterhazy. Faithful members of both closed church buildings now attend Christ Church, Churchbridge.
